ABOUT

Drew Allen (Bowie, MD) is a visual and movement artist that began her dance training at the age of four at Dance Expressions Inc. in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Allen primarily studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and contemporary, taking part in Cecchetti Council of America and Dance Masters of America Chapter 17, where she was a junior member of the organization. Allen’s excitement and love grew for the arts, inspiring her to assist and later teach young minds from the age of three to sixteen. She continued their training studying Contemporary Dance Performance (est.2024) at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Allen refined she training of ballet, Limón, Horton, Graham, Upside Down, and many other styles, with faculty members such as Gianni Di Marco, Russell Clarke, Kurt Douglas, James Viera, Ruka Hatua-Saar White, and Jun Kuribayashi. While attending the conservatory, Allen was in main stage pieces by Danny Pelzig, Heather Stewart, and Aszure Barton. She also had the chance to work in Jennifer Archibald’s KCon World Premiere Performance at one of the largest K-Pop conventions in the country at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. In 2022, Allen was named Jan Veen Scholar for Dance Education for the 2022-2023 year.
